Be default, Internet Explorer 9 shows the tabs along side the address bar to maintain a minimalistic interface.

To get these tabs to show in a separate row and keep the address bar separate from the tabs :

Right click on any Tab and select Show tabs on a separate row.

Doing this will from now on maintain a separate row in which the tabs are displayed and will also keep the address bar separate.

  1. Matt – If you prefer Chrome type browsers, try Srware Iron, it is on same framework as Chrome minus the Google user privacy concerns.

  2. I gave IE9 a quick go but now stick to Chrome – it’s so fast compared to Firefox and supports standards, unlike IE 🙂
