Facebook provides login notifications via emails and text messages to safeguard accounts. This is the “Login Notification” feature. What this means is that if a login is detected from an unknown device or from unknown location, an alert will be sent to the Facebook user.
Even if this is the actual user using a different device or accessing from a different location, enabling these notifications is a useful way to keep tabs on all login activities.
Here is how to enable them:
Access the “Settings” option from the drop-down menu by clicking on the inverted triangle on top right.
Click on Security and next to Login Notifications choose Edit.
Select how these notifications should be delivered by enabling Email, Text messages or both. (For text message notifications, phone number is required in Facebook profile information.)
Hit “Save Changes”.
All done. Happy Facebooking.
