How To Link Windows 10 PC With Android Phone

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update has an option of linking Android phone with Windows 10 PC. This can help in ensuring consistent cross-device experience.

Here is how  :

Access Windows Settings (Windows key + X > Settings) and choose the Phone option.

Next, click on Add a phone.

Then, enter the number. This is where the download link to Microsoft Launcher app will be sent. Once the text message with the link is received, install Microsoft Launcher on phone. This app customizes Android phone with various features including user feed, frequently used apps and more.

To customize home screen, add favorite apps or skip as needed.

Also, Microsoft Launcher can be set as a default launcher on phone if needed.

The phone is now linked and will show up in Windows 10 Phone settings.

Other Microsoft apps installed on Windows 10 will be available to download and use on phone too.

Cortana can now be used on phone as well as on Windows 10 system for a better consistent experience.

Also, the cool Bing wallpapers can be set on phone through Wallpaper app.

Various items like calendar events, Cortana, recent activities, to-do list, quick notes and more will appear as ‘cards’ in feed which can be accessed directly by swiping home screen.

These cards can also be pinned on a new page from which they will always be visible.

Also, they can be added/removed or changed as needed.

Once the phone and PC are linked, another useful feature to have is Continue on PC. The app for it can be downloaded from here for Android.

This helps in forwarding websites, links, articles, emails and so on directly to the linked PC. Simply use the share option and choose Continue on PC.

The linked PC will be visible to which it can be shared. (If it is a website, it will automatically open in Edge browser on Windows 10 system.)
