It is simple to download all of the Google account data either for backup or before deleting the account. This process includes selecting the data for the specific Google services and then downloading a copy of it.
Here is how:
Login to Google Takeout. It will display the various Google services for which your user data can be downloaded. By default, all of them are selected. Choose specific services or keep the default all as needed.
After choosing these services as needed, scroll down to bottom and choose NEXT.
There will be different options on how the data can be downloaded. It can be created as a zip or tar.gz archive, have a size limitation (archives larger than 2GB will be split into multiple files) and the delivery method.
The data can either be downloaded using an email link, be directly stored on Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Box. Generating a backup copy to online storage can be useful if the data file is large and can’t be downloaded in one go. Choose as needed.
Finally, once all the choices are made, click on CREATE ARCHIVE.
Depending on the delivery method, the archives will be generated and a notification will be sent. In this example, the delivery method used is email.
Once the archive is ready to be downloaded, an email notification will appear. Click Download archive.
This will start the download of user data. Also, if there are previous archives, they can be managed using Manage archives. Generated archives will be available for one week from the date they were created for downloading.
Finally, after download is complete, the data can then be accessed locally.
All done.
