Google Chrome can automatically report errors and crashes. This includes data like the amount of memory in use during the crash, extensions installed, settings, the web pages which were open during the crash, and more.

Here is how to enable or disable these automatic reports feature:

Open Google Chrome, and in the address bar, type in the following:

Google Chrome sync settings

 chrome://settings/syncSetup

Alternatively, access the Settings option from the top-right menu.

accessing Chrome settings

(The sync settings too can be configured from here.)

Click on the You and Google section.

Scroll down to Other Google services and toggle the option Help improve Chrome’s features and performance. This will change whether the automatic reports are on or off.

A relaunch of Chrome will be required whenever this setting is changed.
