Easy Switch in Proton Mail is a useful migration tool that lets you migrate from other email services like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and more to Proton Mail. Here is how to use it.
A new feature is now added to Easy Switch which automatically allows you to forward all your Gmail messages to Proton Mail inbox.
Here is how to set up this Gmail to Proton Mail forwarding:
Login to Proton Mail web and click on the Settings button.
From the drop-down, select Go to settings.
From the left pane, click on Import via Easy Switch. Forwarding will be available on the right that can be configured through the Set up forwarding section. Click on the Google icon to get started.
This opens the Easy Switch wizard for forwarding, click on the Sign in with Google button from the bottom left.
Choose the Google account for which you want to forward Gmail messages to Proton Mail and sign in with those credentials.
Enable the option of letting Proton Mail view messages and settings if needed, though this is off by default. Click on the Continue button.
After verifying your Google account credentials and a successful sign-in, Easy Switch will show a brief notification that forwarding is active for that account.
From now on, you will see Gmail messages both in your Gmail and Proton Mail inbox due to this forwarding.
You can verify this by clicking on the message details from your Proton Mail inbox. The recipient email address will be your Gmail address, but the message is in the Proton Mail inbox.
Happy emailing.
