Just like having multiple home page tabs in Firefox, it is possible to do that when using Internet Explorer 9 too.
To configure it in IE9 :
1. Select the gear icon on top right and click “Internet options”.
2. Under the “General” tab, enter website addresses (each on a seperate line) which should be used as a home page each that will load in seperate tabs when Internet Explorer is launched.
3. Click “Ok” to save these changes. Close and reopen Internet Explorer, the websites chosen will now each be loaded in a seperate tab every time.
